Fellowships and Associateships

First-year University Fellowships, numerous Graduate Teaching and Research Associate positions are available to entering students and provide a stipend plus academic tuition and fee waiver. Although the individual programs must be contacted directly, Graduate Assistantships are also available in the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, the Byrd Polar Archieves, the Cartoon Research Library and the Huntington Archives. Travel and research scholarships are provided departmentally by the Kate Murnane Travel Fund and the Sara Jane Pyne Scholarship Fund as well as by the College of the Arts and the Graduate School. Presidential Fellowships for the dissertation year are awarded to current students following a departmental nomination and University-wide selection process.

Accepted applicants who meet the January 1st deadline will be considered for a University Fellowship nomination ($14,400 plus tuition and fee waiver for a nine month appointment) along with Graduate Teaching and Research Associateships (starting at approximately $1030 per month). The preceding dollar figures are for the 2005–06 academic year and are subject to change.

Students who wish to be considered for University Fellowships must submit a C.V. with their application. GRE scores must not be more than two years old.

Fellowship Applications

If interested in being considered for a University Fellowship, completed applications must be submitted by the following dates:

  • International Applicants November 18, 2006
  • Domestic Applicants January 1, 2007

All other applications must be submitted in completion, no later than January 30, 2007.
