A specialist in late-nineteenth and early twentieth-century European art, Professor Florman is particularly interested in Cubism, Surrealism, and the varied conceptions of the "classical" in the modern world. In addition to offering courses on those topics, she has also taught graduate-level seminars on the art of Cézanne, Paul Klee, and l'informe, and has been an active participant in the Department of Art's program in Art Critical Practices.
