Professor Odita's specialties include the Art and Archaeology of the Entire African Continent, with an emphasis on Contemporary African Art. He has lectured widely here and abroad on topics related to his field and has appeared on national and international television to discuss critical issues in African art. He has received numerous prestigious grants and is the creator of the first Graduate Program in the History of Contemporary African Art in the US. He has created several documentary videos productions for research and teaching in contemporary African art and has plans to teach African Art courses via the web. He is also an artist and has had several exhibits of his paintings.
