Patrons' Circle Lecture 2014: Michael Lobel

"Ivory Tower or Gatehouse: Art History, the Museum and the Crisis in the Humanities"

Lecture Description:

What place does art history have in recent discussions of the broader state of the humanities? Although some signs point to the field’s general disengagement from contemporary public life, an examination of the relationship between art history and the museum can help us reconsider the current state and alternative visions for the discipline.
