History of Art 3211 - Art and Civilization in the Near East

Professor Sarah Schellinger

Produced in the cradle of civilization, Near Eastern art has a rich history of constructing
monuments and creating objects that would provide insight into the lives of the people
living during the advent of civilization. The aim of this course is to provide an overview
of the major sites, structures, and artifacts throughout the Near East from the beginning
of the Neolithic revolution through the Persian period.
