Sterling Nix II is a PhD student studying twentieth-century Black narrative art,  identity/abstraction, and biomythography, in film and visual culture. He is particularly interested in artists functioning as documentarian, educator, and curator; with focus on study of cultural conduits in the African Diaspora. Concurrently, Sterling seeks to commit to active and alternative pedagogy in the realm of Negritude. Prior to pursuing his PhD, Sterling earned a B.A. in History from Virginia Tech.
