Bling Rings: Objects, Texts, and Images in the Iberian Empires
This conference is being sponsored by the following: the Department of History of Art, the Department of Classics, the Department of Spanish and Poruguese, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, the Center for Latin American Studies, the Americas Before 1900 Working Group of the Humanities Institute, and the Instituto Camões Fund. There will be a keynote address March 20, 2014 at 5:30 pm in Hagerty Hall, room 180. Professor Andrew Laird, Department of Classics and Ancient History, Warwick University, will speak on "Eagles, Serpents, Suns, Calendars: Renaissance Learning, Classical Signs and Native Traditions in 16th Century Mexico."Full Conference Schedule
