As part of a series of visiting artists' talks in conjunction with Art 7108/History of Art 8000 -- Cartelami, Cardboard Constructions, & Material Culture, a course by Professors Laura Lisbon and Lisa Florman:

Kristin Jones received her MFA at Yale University. She is a Fulbright scholar and recipient of the Rome Prize, Pollock Krasner Foundation, MacDowell, Bellagio and National Endowment of the Arts awards. Permanent public commissions installed in collaboration with Andrew Ginzel include the Metronome at Union Square in New York, the Hoboken Ferry Terminal, airports in Kansas City and Tampa, and in public buildings in Orlando, Chicago, Utah and St. Louis. The pair have been invited to create installations for the city of Rome at the Aquario Romano, for the Kunsthalle in Basel, Switzerland, at the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in Prato, Italy, and the Trienalle in New Delhi, India. Jones will speak about her recent collaboration with William Kentridge in Rome that resulted in the dynamic urban tableau, ‘TRIUMPHS & LAMENTS’ in response to Jones’ long evolving conceptual public venue called Tevereterno on the banks of the Tiber River.
