Assistant Professor Aaron Katzeman recently published a review of Jeffrey Gibson's the space in which to place me in the online publication Momus. Premiering at the 60th Venice Bienniale in 2024 and currently on view at the Broad in Los Angeles through September 28, the space in which to place me was the first solo exhibition of an Indigenous artist in the US pavilion. Katzeman's review, titled "Jeffrey Gibson Saves America," critically examines the "onerous questions regarding what one is required to politically repress, or implicitly rebuke, when chosen to represent the US on the global stage."
