PhD Candidate April Riddle served as Gallery and Exhibitions Visiting Fellow at the Asia Society, Hong Kong

From February through April, PhD candidate April Riddle served as the second Gallery and Exhibitions Visiting Fellow at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center. While in Hong Kong, April helped with three exhibitions: Objects of Play: Hoo Mojong Centennial Retrospective, LEE Kuang-Yu: Sculpting the Void, and New Horizons: Emerging Voices in Chinese Art and Sculpture. She also appreciated the opportunity to attend Art Basel and Art Central, explore art venues throughout Hong Kong, and travel to Tokyo, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xi’an, and Shanghai. While in Tokyo, April visited the Mori Art Museum, where she saw the show MACHINE LOVE: Video Game, AI and Contemporary Art, which featured artworks central to her dissertation.
April extends her thanks to Alice Mong, President of Asia Society Hong Kong Center, and Hain Yoon, Gallery Operations Manager, for making this such a wonderful experience. This opportunity was generously funded through the Asia Society, Hong Kong History of Art Internship Fund.
