All Under Heaven: The Chinese World in Maps, Pictures, and Texts from the Collection of Floyd Sully, the catalogue of an exhibition curated by Walter Davis (PhD, 2008) at the University of Alberta, recently won the Katherine Kyes Leab and Daniel J. Leab Award from the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The awards committee praised the "rich information content" and "intellectual depth" of Davis's text as well as the exhibition itself. "The curators narrowed the choices well," they wrote, "resulting in a spectacular [array] of items; each is unusual, visually interesting and stunning in appearance."
