Join the Wex Student Engagement Group, University Libraries, Student Life Multicultural Center, and WGSS for an inclusive one-day event dedicated to improving coverage of gender, feminism, and the arts on Wikipedia.
Despite its wide reach, Wikipedia suffers from a severe gender imbalance. In an effort to change this, we are gathering to celebrate Women’s History Month and discuss ongoing challenges caused by discrimination in the arts. Hear from guest speakers Carmen Winant and Guisela Latorre, learn how to edit, and help close the Wikipedia gender gap. Everyone is welcome.
Refreshments will be provided and, if able, please bring a laptop or tablet. No Wikipedia editing experience necessary! Prior to the event, we recommend that you create a Wikipedia account if you don't already have one. For the editing-adverse, you are welcome to stop by to show your support.
