PhD candidate Hannah Slater presents at the 50th Annual Midwest Art History Society Conference in Chicago
In April 2024, PhD candidate Hannah Slater traveled to Chicago to attend the 50th Annual Midwest Art History Society conference. Hannah presented research from her dissertation on the artist Hatakeyama Naoya titled "Post-disaster or Post-war? Reading Hatakeyama Naoya's Rikuzentakata photographs through 1960s fukeiron discourse." Hannah's presentation was part of a panel on Photography presented at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her trip was generously supported by the Pyne Memorial Scholarship through the History of Art Department and an OSU Graduate School Research Small Grant.
