PhD Candidate Stephanie Kang Conducts Dissertation Research in New York
PhD Candidate Stephanie Kang received funds from the Murnane Travel Award and Graduate Symposium Award to conduct dissertation research in New York.
While there, she visited the Whitney Biennial, which featured a new video work and installation by Alex Da Corte, an artist who is a central focus of Stephanie's dissertation. She also attended the North American premiere of Moby Dick: Or, The Whale, a new film project by Wu Tsang, an artist who is also highlighted is Stephanie's research.
During her trip, Stephanie had the opportunity to visit several other exhibitions, including Baseera Khan: I Am an Archive at the Brooklyn Museum. Stephanie is currently working closely with Baseera Khan for an upcoming exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, which will open this fall.
