Gillian Yanzhuang Zhang traveled to the Cleveland Museum of Art during Summer 2022 to conduct research on her dissertation “From Paper to Stone: Chinese Painting and Its Medium in High Qing China.” During this trip, she also assisted in catalogue writing for CMA’s forthcoming exhibition China's Southern Paradise: Treasures from the Lower Yangzi Delta (Jiangnan). The research trip was supported by the Cathleen M. Murnane Travel Scholarship.
