PhD Student Maika Kagawa Bahr Travels to Japan to Conduct Research
PhD Student Maika Kagawa Bahr traveled to Japan during the month of July to conduct research for several papers and her dissertation. With support from History of Art Department and the The Cathleen M. Murnane Travel Scholarship Fund, she visited Takarazuka to see the Takarazuka theatre campus and museum as well as the Tezuka Osamu Museum.
She is currently writing about the Takarazuka Revue (an all-female musical theatre troupe) and hopes to write her dissertation on manga and anime. Throughout her trip she was also able to take photographs to use in a conference presentation on wax and plastic food models in Japan.
