PhD Students April Riddle and Emilela Thomas-Adams Present Papers at 22nd Annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies at Harvard University
Emilela Thomas-Adams
In March 2023, PhD student Emilela Thomas-Adams presented a paper entitled, “Material Memory: Imitation and Reuse in Florentine Convents” at the 22nd Annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies at Harvard University. In addition to attending panels, Emilela participated in a hands-on workshop at the Harvard Art Museum where she learned how to carve and cast her own “medieval” pilgrims’ badge from a cuttlefish bone!
April Riddle
PhD student April Riddle recently presented her paper “Figitur et Fractis: St. Vitus's Conversion Coins of Corvey Abbey” at the 22nd Annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies at Harvard University. During the conference, April enjoyed casting a pilgrimage token with a cuttlefish bone mold and visiting the Harvard Art Museums, the MFA Boston, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Her trip was generously supported by a Symposium Conference Award from the department of History of Art.
