Assistant Professor Aaron Katzeman recently gave the 24th Janet E. Hutchison Lecture at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto in coordination with the exhibition Earthwork, curated by Mikinaak Migwans. His talk, "Land/Labour: Artists Working for and against Settler Colonialism," examined how labour, like that employed in the construction of Land Art in the 1960s and 1970s, has historically been complicit in settler colonial dispossession, as well as how Indigenous labour has invigorated anticolonial movements for land back.
