Students from Five History of Art Courses Take Bus Trip to Cleveland Museum of Art

Entire group poses at entry to museum.

Students from various courses braved the cold in early February to travel to the Cleveland Musuem of Art. Accompanied by Professor Kristen Adams and Lecturer Hannah Slater, the students explored the encyclopedic museum. Adams’ two Renaissance courses were particularly interested in the special exhibition, Renaissance to Runway: The Enduring Italian Houses, which juxtaposed modern and contemporary Italian fashions with their Renaissance inspirations. Slater’s 2003 and 4820 students focused on  the East Asian galleries. Shelton’s 4550 students found the handful of 18th Century European works for further research.

The courses involved with trip:

History of Art 2003 - The Art & Visual Culture of East Asia

History of Art 3521 - Renaissance Art in Italy

History of Art 4510 – Northern Renaissance Art

History of Art 4550 – 18th Century European Art

History of Art 4820 – The Arts of Japan
