ART 5797: Film and Art in Berlin: Past and Present 

Instructors: Erica Levin and Roger Beebe 

In this course, students will have the opportunity to engage with the city of Berlin; a significant global center of art and cinema. Students will visit sites where film and art are produced, exhibited and archived. They will produce cinematic or written essays that engage with the city’s rich cultural and political history. The program will culminate with a visit to the Venice Biennale, to expand our conversations about art and cinema within a global context. This course serves a range of student interests including filmmaking, contemporary art, and art history. 

This program takes place in May through early June.
