DEIJ Reading Group – Autumn 2023
As part of our department’s commitment to fostering a robust discussion of racism and white supremacy within — and at the very root of — the history of art, we (the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Committee) are organizing a series of study sessions to explore recent scholarship that addresses this issue from a cross-disciplinary perspective.
The department is warmly invited to attend this open forum on Monday, October 16th from 12:30-2:00pm.
Please read two articles in advance:
“Flow and Arrest” by Huey Copeland
“How to Teach Manet’s Olympia” by David J. Getsy
Benjamin Jones will moderate this conversation.
