Executive Dean Gretchen Ritter has appointed Associate Professor Karl Whittington as interim department chair from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.  Professor Whittington is a specialist in European medieval art, and was formerly the Undergraduate Studies Chair in the department for eight years. 

The department also acknowledges Professor Lisa Florman for her exceptional service as department chair for seven years and wishes her well in her new role as Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies and Community Engagement in the College of Arts and Sciences.
