The Department of History of Art is delighted to welcome four new faculty members to our community this fall. This exceptional group of scholars will broaden and enrich our course offerings, expand our areas of graduate training and research, and deepen our impact in curatorial and community engaged scholarship.

Watch for full introductions to each faculty member in the coming weeks, but our new colleagues are Sampada Aranke (Associate Professor of History of Art and Comparative Studies, focusing on contemporary Black American visual culture, performance, and curatorial studies), Ujaan Ghosh (Assistant Professor of History of Art, focusing on the architectural and urban history of South Asia), Benjamin Jones (Provost’s Fellow in History of Art, focusing on 20th century art and Black studies), and Carlos Rivas (Assistant Professor of History of Art and Ethnic Studies, focusing on Latin American and Latinx visual culture from the Early Modern to contemporary periods).
