History of Art Graduate Student Association Held its Biennial Symposium
On Saturday, April 6th, the History of Art Graduate Student Association held its biennial symposium, which was organized around the theme: Beyond Habitability: Homes as Built and Imagined Spaces. The symposium, which took place online, included six presentations from graduate students studying throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy. Their research interests were diverse and multivalent, spanning Indigenous Studies, English Literature, and the Histories of Fine and Performing Arts, though they all came together to address questions under the umbrella of what it means to be at, make, or lose (and find again) a home. Assistant Professor Ujaan Ghosh offered closing remarks that addressed each of the presentations in detail, and HAGS (the History of Art Graduate Student Association) is grateful for his time, genuine interest, and generosity. The next graduate student symposium is expected in the spring of 2026.
