History of Art Undergraduates Travel to New York City with Senior Seminar

Over autumn break this October, a group of undergraduate students in the History of Art Department’s Senior Research Seminar traveled with Professor Jody Patterson to New York City.

Only hours after landing at LaGuardia and depositing their luggage at the Aliz Hotel in Times Square, the group spent their first afternoon in New York at the Museum of Modern Art. The following day, they visited the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art before being given the evening to explore the city at their leisure.

One history of art undergraduate, Isaiah Stottlemeyer, had this to say when asked about the trip: “I really enjoyed the museums that Dr. Patterson picked out for us to explore. It was fun getting to explore NYC with someone who did their grad school there. Jody was great at making the trip entertaining and giving us knowledge about the museums, their founders, and other sites in NYC we passed by on our walks to the museums and going to get food!… We all enjoyed getting to hear Stories from Jody about her life, and she made it such a wonderful experience. That was probably my favorite part from the trip!”
