History of Art Welcomes New Faculty Member, Dr. Aaron Katzeman

The Department of History of Art is delighted to welcome a new faculty member to campus this fall.  Dr. Aaron Katzeman has joined the department as Assistant Professor of Global Indigenous Art.  Dr. Katzeman received his PhD in 2024 from the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on global contemporary art, with a focus on indigeneity, land, imperialism, and environmental studies. He is working on his first book, Land, Art, Liberation: Visual Culture of Agrarian Movements after Decolonization.  At OSU, he’ll be teaching courses on indigenous art, arts of the Hawaii and the Pacific, museum studies, and global cinema.
