On April 6th, PhD student Cole J. Graham joined artists Sahej Rahal and Petra Szemán in a public talk hosted at the artist-run gallery Banner Repeater in conjunction with their current show: The Advantages of Being Boneless and Incomplete. Hosted by writer and publisher Jamie Sutcliffe, the conversation anticipated the publication of WEEB THEORY, an edited collection of essays and interviews that contemplate conditions of animation and animacy running through the web of relations between “image” and “life” in our hyper-mediated, techno-political present. Cole's essay "Monstrous Possibilities: States of Racial Transmutation in FullMetal Alchemist" will join others in the collection by scholars such as David Blandy and Patrick W. Galbraith later this month.
