PhD Student Peter Smyth Conducts Research at the Met and other NYC Exhibitions
Over spring break, PhD student Peter Smyth traveled to NYC to see an important exhibition at the Met, “The Harlem Renaissance and Transatlantic Modernism.” While there, they also visited the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art’s annual festival of independent comics and cartoons, MoCCA Arts Fest, where they acquired cutting-edge comic books and graphic novels, met with cartoonists, and attended panels. This trip was supported by the Arts and Humanities Graduate Research Small Grant.
Peter made this drawing depicting Tony Del Aversano and themself at the Met, looking at the kouros statue in the Greek galleries.
