Professor Christina Burke Mathison Takes Students to the Cleveland Museum of Art
Professor Christina Burke Mathison took students from her History of Art 2003 East Asian Art and Visual Culture class and History of Art 5002 Art of Colonial Taiwan class to view the China’s Southern Paradise: Treasures form the Lower Yangzi Delta exhibition at The Cleveland Museum of Art. PhD Alum Yiwen Liu, a research assistant at the museum, led the students through the exhibition. They also attended a lecture by the renowned scholar of Chinese art, Dr. Craig Clunas (Professor Emeritus of the History of Art, University of Oxford), entitled “Heaven is High and the Emperor is Far Away”: Jiangnan in Ming-Dynasty China.
