Recent History of Art Graduate Qaman Omar has accepted a position as Visitor Engagement Coordinator in the Department of Engagement and Interpretation at the Columbus Museum of Art. He is responsible for coordinating informal in-gallery conversations as well as hands-on activities to help visitors of all ages engage and interpret the art on view. In addition, he conducts research on objects in the museum’s collection in order to develop interpretive resources for visitors, students, docents, and frontline staff.

Asked about his new position, Qaman responded:

“I’m thrilled to be working at CMA full-time and helping create great experiences with art for all. I feel activated by my work because I can play a part in making fine art more accessible to a wider audience in Columbus. Being involved in young people’s formative encounters with art has been a particularly enriching experience.”
