Two New Faculty Positions for History of Art Approved as Part of Ohio State’s RAISE Initiative
The Department of History of Art is delighted to announce two new faculty positions that have been approved as part of the university’s RAISE (Race, Inclusion, and Social Equity) Initiative. In the coming years, History of Art will conduct national searches for two new faculty positions in the department. One will be for a Historian of Architecture, with a particular research focus on the intersection of architecture and race, ethnicity, and social equity. This hire is being made in collaboration with OSU’s Knowlton School of Architecture, which will also hire a new faculty member, as part of a research cluster on “Race and the Built Environment: The Just City.” The second position in History of Art will be for a specialist in African and African Diaspora Art. This hire is being made in collaboration with OSU’s departments of Dance and African American and African Studies, each of which will also hire a new faculty member, as part of a research cluster on “Global Black Arts.”
