Congratulations to Ryan Mitchell (BA 2017) who was recently accepted into the PhD program at Temple University, where he will work with Prof. Emily Neumeier (a former ACLS Postdoctoral Fellow here in the Department). Ryan is currently on a U.S. Student Fulbright Grant to Turkey, where he is affiliated with Boğaziçi University and studying the architecture of schools founded by non-Muslim communities during the Ottoman period. His comparative study will culminate in a virtual exhibition that will explore the histories of those institutions, their surrounding neighborhoods, and the communities that constructed them. Ryan is also currently serving as a project assistant at the Istanbul Research Institute.
