Emilela is a Ph.D. candidate studying medieval art and architecture. She received a BA in Art History from the University of Vermont and an MA in Art History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her research focuses on the visual and material culture of the female monasticism, mysticism, blood piety, and the textile arts.
