The Department would like to congratulate all of the 2024-25 History of Art graduates. The Department also recognizes two undergraduate 2024-25 graduates who have received departmental awards. 

The Barbara Groseclose Award for Outstanding Paper in the History of Art is given every year to a graduating senior who produced an exceptional paper in the senior research seminar. It is named after a beloved emeritus faculty member who taught American art at OSU for a number of years. This year’s award goes to Alexa Isaac for her outstanding paper “Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney: a Study in Subversive Portraiture" written for Prof. Patterson’s Senior Seminar. Congratulations, Alexa! 

The Department Valedictorian in History of Art is an award given every year to a graduating senior with the highest GPA.  This year’s award goes to Shaylee Gatch. Great work, Shaylee!
