Major Gracey Kelly Interns at Amelia Jeffers

History of Art major Gracey Kelly is spending autumn semester interning with Amelia Jeffers Auctions & Appraisals, a local auction and appraisal house. She is enrolled in History of Art 4191- Internship in History of Art and is using the internship to gain real-world transferrable skills she can apply after graduation.

Gracey mainly works in breaking (tracking hammer prices and bidder numbers) but has gotten a chance to learn a variety of different aspects of a career in art appraisal.  When it’s not an auction day, she works on condition reports as well as anything needed around the warehouse: editing photos, editing catalog descriptions, and organizing incoming shipments. She enjoys the monthly auctions as well as everything else and is planning to continue her internship through Spring 2027 semester.

Amelia Jeffers Auctions and Appraisals specializes in consignment, real estate, and auctioneering with an emphasis on preservation and scholarship.  Students interested in applying for this internship should read more under the Internships section of the website and watch for application details sent to the listserv.
