The Department would like to congratulate all of the 2022 History of Art graduates. The Department also recognizes two undergraduate 2021-22 graduates who have received departmental awards.
The Barbara Groseclose Award for Outstanding Paper in the History of Art is given every year to a graduating senior who produced an exceptional paper in the senior research seminar. It is named after a beloved emeritus faculty member who taught American art at OSU for a number of years. This year’s award goes to Alex Danford for her outstanding paper “Examining the Origins of the Louvre: Napoleon’s Systematic Looting of Cultural Property and the Institutional Push for Repatriation,” written for Professor Schellinger’s Art and the Museum course. Congratulations, Alex!
