PhD Candidate Allie Mickle presented her paper, "Aesthetic Kitsch as Global Commodity in Mika Rottenberg's Cosmic Generator" at this year's College Art Association conference in Chicago, Illinois. Her presentation was part of a thematic panel focused on reflective materiality entitled Sparkle, glitter, gleam, glow: Reflective/Refractive Optical Mediums and Effects in Art. While in Chicago, she also visited the Art Institute of Chicago and saw a screening of contemporary artist Wu Tsang's recent film MOBY DICK; or, The Whale at MCA Chicago.

Her trip was supported by the ASC Graduate Research Small Grants Program.
