We are thrilled to announce that PhD Candidate Emilela Thomas-Adams was recently named the Robert H. and Clarice Smith Fellow (2026-2027) at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA). As a predoctoral fellow, Emilela will be part of a cohort of scholars conducting research that spans continents, centuries, and disciplines. This fellowship will support work on her dissertation project Silk and Skin: Repair and Recycling in Late Medieval Objects. For more information, please visit the NGA's website.
