PhD candidate Emilela Thomas-Adams awarded Getty Residential Fellowship

PhD candidate Emilela Thomas-Adams has been awarded a prestigious 9-month fellowship at the Getty Research Center in Los Angeles. As a predoctoral fellow from September to June, Emilela will be part of a cohort of scholars working around the Getty’s annual theme of “repair.” She will be working on her dissertation project, “Silk and Skin: Repair and Recycling in Late Medieval Objects,” which explores the creative and spiritual potential of repaired and recycled medieval objects, especially those made of parchment and fabric.
