PhD Candidate Peter Smyth serves as third Gallery and Exhibitions Visiting Fellow at Asia Society Hong Kong Center
From March through May, PhD candidate Peter Smyth served as the third Gallery and Exhibitions Visiting Fellow at Asia Society Hong Kong Center. While there, Peter helped open the exhibition Hung Hsien: Between Worlds. They also had the opportunity to attend the art fairs Art Basel and Art Central, network with local curators, and explore arts institutions in Tokyo, Taipei, and Seoul. To conclude their fellowship, Peter shared their research in a public lecture titled “From Hampton Court to Punch Magazine: How the Word ‘Cartoon’ Got its Modern Meaning.”
