PhD Candidate Maggie Wilson to be guest speaker at the Columbus Museum of Art

PhD Candidate Maggie Wilson will be a guest speaker at the Columbus Museum of Art, where she will discuss the subject of the ongoing Sapphic Paris exhibition, painter Marie Laurencin. Her talk, entitled “O Graces: A critical look at Marie Laurencin’s ‘feminine’ figures” will put Laurencin in dialogue with Sappho’s poetry fragments and take a close look at the resonance of classical motifs with queer female community in the 1920s. The talk is part of the CMA’s Wednesdays@2 series and will take place at 2pm June 19th.
