Tony Del Aversano, a PhD student in History of Art, recently published a book review in Sixteenth Century Journal. The review discusses the book Simone Martini in Orvieto, edited by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Deputy Director and Chief Curator Nathaniel Silver. Through multiple essays by guest authors, the book focuses on the Trecento Sienese artist Simone Martini and the techniques and effects of his gold-ground paintings.
